The Present as Eternity
> "Eternity is not endless time. It is the absence of time." β Alan Watts

The Misunderstanding of Forever
When people hear the word βeternity,β
they imagine endless duration.
Time stretching infinitely in both directions.
But endless time is still time.
Still movement.
Still sequence.
Eternity is something else.
---
Outside the Line
The present moment does not sit between past and future.
It is not a thin slice of a timeline.
It is the field in which the idea of time appears at all.
Notice this:
when you stop measuring,
when you stop counting,
when you stop projecting β
there is no duration.
Only experience.
---
The Depth of Now
Right now has no length.
You cannot measure it.
You cannot stretch it.
And yet, it contains everything:
memory, anticipation, sensation, awareness.
All of it arises in this timeless immediacy.
Not later.
Not earlier.
---
The Shift in Perspective
When the present is seen as eternity,
urgency softens.
You are not racing toward fulfillment.
You are not escaping from lack.
There is only this depth β
which does not move,
even as everything within it changes.
---
Nothing Outside It
There has never been a moment outside the present.
Every past event happened when it was βnow.β
Every future event will unfold as βnow.β
Eternity is not ahead of you.
It is not behind you.
It is the dimension of this moment β
when you stop dividing it.

It is this."
